Classical Arts on Our Doorstep
Founded in 1930 by the poet Vallathol Narayana Menon, Kerala Kalamandalam is where Kathakali, Mohiniyattam and Kudiyattam
were saved and are still taught in the traditional way. Its open-air classrooms sit on the banks of the Nila, a few minutes from the
estate, and visitors can watch students and masters at work

A traditional temple theatre built in 1977. Its black granite pillars carry 108 carved dance poses from the Natyashastra, and a mural behind the stage shows Arjuna receiving the Pashupata weapon from Shiva.
